URL Link Shrink & Redirect Services seem to be popping up everywhere, but many are also shutting down just as quickly. These services are a must have when utilizing article marketing, social network/bookmark marketing, and especially when using a service such as twitter where you are limited to the number of characters you can use.
 In the past, TinyUrl has been the most popular service, but when twitter took off, many people scrambled around to find a service with the shortest possible domain.   One of my favorites was Cli.gs because of the statistics offered on your links, but that site is shutting down or being sold.  Unfortunately, that is a big issue with many of these sites.   I have been using a couple of different services lately, but I have been using only one service when I input the link myself.  I use several different twitter services to manage multiple accounts, such as Hootsuite, TwitterDeck, and others.  When using those services, I will usually just go ahead and use their link shrinker, but am finding myself doing it less and less because of the difference in reporting of statistics.  Currently I am using bit.ly for almost all of my basic link shrinking & redirecting needs because they are free and provide ad free statistics that even track and show you when and where your link is mentioned.

There are several different free link shrink and redirect options out there that should fulfill any needs you may have.  The key, in my opinion, is to find one that you understand the interface, has good tracking abilities (if you need that), and has been around for awhile.

There are so many "article directories" now a days that it can become very confusing when deciding where to submit your articles. Here are some of the best places to submit your articles, no matter if you are just looking to do some "bum" marketing (article marketing), link building to your sites, or more advanced methods- which we will cover later. This is by no way a comprehensive list and there are some other great places that we may have just let slip our mind while posting this or utilize for other methods that we will post in our other sections regarding more advanced techniques.

The best overall site, in my opinion & many others, is Ezinearticles . Google loves it!! However, they do have some policies regarding they way you submit articles and promotion. Be sure to look over the guidelines prior to posting- which you should do with any of these sites.

GoArticles is a good place to submit articles. I still utilize it a lot, but the only thing i do not like about the site is how they have added the "featured" article where you can pay to get top position guaranteed... This can help some that are using for specific purpose and have the experience & plan to use it, but overall I do not recommend paying anything on here especially for the novice. DO NOT LET THIS KEEP YOU FROM utilizing this site, it still provides a great service.

As stated in the previous entry we are going to work on the No Money Marketing Method, which is basically utilizing Bum Marketing, Article Marketing, and other methods. It will basically be an evolution of those methods and the utilization of linking strategies, SEO, Keyword Research Techniques, and many more methods/strategies that are a part of marketing. With SEO, we are not concerned with the "labels" of black hat, grey hat, white hat and so on, but more of a NO hat SEO that I'm sure some will call a combination of the above.

The main thing to remember is that the key is marketing. Plain and simple, if you can not market then very little else really matters. The concept of marketing is sometimes thought of as a specific "type" of marketing, and while there are different methods to market there is not a specific step by step marketing method or plan that can be considered as the best. Each marketing style has it's place, for example the "true" bum marketing method is great for those who are just starting out and do not have a lot of money or don't have any money to invest for that matter. However, that is not to say that bum marketing is not for experienced and successful marketers, because many make a lot of money month after month utilizing it. The main point I am trying to get across is that marketing is essential to success, and to maximize your success you need to know each method or style and begin to determine what to use in each situation, as well as developing your own method that works best for you.

Travis is considered the "father" of Bum Marketing and I have learned a tremendous amount from him through reading his posts in forums, his web-site, etc... If you have not visited his bum marketing web-site I strongly recommend that you do so. He is not one of those so-called "gurus" that make all their money off of selling people e-books that supposedly tell you how to make a million bucks in a month...lol... Rather, he is a very generous individual that gives away a ton of information totally free.

The specifics of different methods of marketing will be talked about and looked at indepth to ensure a good understanding and hopefully improve upon in one way or another.

Article Marketing- Making Money Over A Year After Publishing Article

One of the great things with article marketing/bum marketing is that you have the ability to continue to make money well over a year after the production/publication of your article. Of course, there are the same variables involved in the success of the article(s) such as keywords, quality, placement, etc... BUT never give up on an article you put out there. Recently, we had forgot that we had done an article or two at the most on a topic and linked to both clickbank directly from the article and to a blog we set-up. While looking over my adsense CJ and clickbank information the other day I noticed that I had rec'd a few clicks on some of my adsense ads, sold 2 e-books w/ commission of $19.99 on one & $13.99 on the other, and had approx $2-$3 in CJ commission, but had over 15 "invalid link" clicks b/c I forgot to update the link to a product... Doesn't sound like a lot, but a year later this article or possibly 2 brought in about $40 in about a month time frame.... So, don't always get discouraged and give up, b/c you never know what will happen...

We will review pros and cons of each in an upcoming post. However, one of the most overlooked ways to give your articles a little extra advantage is to utilize services such as delicious and other social bookmarking services, but the most overlooked way to super-charge your article & odds of getting on that first page of the SERPS is to utilize netscape's service. There is the right way and the borderline, or wrong way, to use this. First, you need to sign-up for an account at netscape and then you just submit your article. This can create a kind of viral marketing effect and allow others in the huge netscape AND AOL community to see your article. Then the users vote on your article or sink it if it is bad, but I have submitted several articles to the service and some were not very good.
